1921 Halloween

Lewis Thomas (left) and his friend, Ben McWhorter, are all set to ride to a friend's house wearing their homemade Halloween masks. The two Trion boys looked forward to an evening of live music, dancing, and bobbing for apples.

Lewis was the youngest brother of Carlos Deforest Thomas. The latter's grandson, former Summerville resident Gary Thomas, contributed the photograph, with additional information from his cousin, Terri Brooks.
