1956 Dickeyville Fire


In January 1956, fire destroyed a commercial building in Dickeyville just south of Trion on U.S. Highway 27.

The building was owned by Dr. W.U. Hyden and witnesses said it was gone in 30 minutes. Some of the businesses located in the building included Dodd Radio and TV Shop, Raughton Barber Shop, R.C.'s Drive-In, and Dalton Auction Company. Estimated loss of the building was in excess of $30,000.
