According to a 1956 edition of the Trion Facts, "Monday morning, April 7th, about 10:40 a.m., the baseball team was all smiles as Mr. Strickland presented them with the trophy they won for winning in the Class B 7th District playoff.  This will be a memory for them to cherish for a long time."

A.J. Strickland (shown holding the trophy on left) was superintendent of Trion Schools for many years.

"The student body was clapping and yelling, and you've never seen such a happy bunch of boys."

"The trophy is now on display in the high school auditorium.  We would like to congratulate Coach Jones and the baseball team, and wish them the best of luck in future games."

Jimmy Styles, pictured above and in the team photograph (top row, second from left) provided some of the photographs and the Trion Facts article for this feature.  Jim was also a member of the 1957 Trion High School Bulldogs football team, winners of that year's Class B State Championship.
