These children took their drumsticks, triangles, and tambourines to become the Menlo School Rhythm Band under the direction of their teacher, Miss Blanche Toles. The kids included, from left to right, (front row) Carlton McClung, Taylor Adams, Edwin Wilson, Johnny Marshall, and Willie Holt; (second row) Robbie Laney, ? Hightower, Frankie Majors, unidentified, and ? Hollis; (third row) Travis Hill, Dorothy Jackson, unidentified, Betty Sue Willingham, unidentified, unidentified, and Sybil Hames; (fourth row) Jeanne Chamblee and Barbara Crowe; (top row) only the middle student, Betty Huskey, was identified.
