Former Summerville resident Tommy Payne sent these photographs of his father and other members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Tommy estimates this photograph was made around 1953. Pictured from left to right are Jim Teeder, D.P. Henley, R.C. Hardeman, Marlin Payne, Fred Lancaster, C.B. Bricker, and James "Sloppy" Floyd.
This photograph appeared in the May 1966 edition of Georgia VFW News and shows members of VFW Post 6688 attending a 20th anniversary banquet. Those attending include, from left to right, (front row) Carl Baker, Hinton Logan, Lambert Jones, Lester "Flash" Parker, and Charles Anderson; (back row) James "Sloppy" Floyd, Harry Farrow, Dr. Marlin Payne, Ray Giles, D.P. Henley, and Donnie Espy. Not shown is Post Commander J.C. Cavin.
