The Chattooga High School
Class of 1964 was the last class to spend the entire school year in the
old high school building on Rome Boulevard. The class of 1965 moved to
the new facility on Lyerly Highway midway into the next school year.
Below
are several photographs scanned from the original camera negatives
taken by T. Emmett Nunn. (For comparison, see the 1964 yearbook

The
yearbook dedication photograph used another image of honoree and school
janitor Freeman Hinton. This photograph, however, was cropped and
included in the faculty and staff section.
This photograph did not appear in the yearbook. Were these students club officers?
The Homecoming Court included thirteen girls, six of whom are pictured above with their escorts.
The
Queen and Runners-Up included, from left to right, Jan Packer, Aleta
Allen, 1963 Homecoming Queen Cheryl Hudson, and Dianne Smith. Leatha
Miller was not present.
The 1963 Varsity Football Squad was coached by Rex Cassidy (top left) and Paul Quinn (top right).
The
Senior Library Club officers were (not in order) Judy Lenderman, Danny
Hammond, Claudia McConkey, Paulette Johnson, and Linda Reynolds.
The
basketball team included, from left to right, (front row) Steve Thomas,
Lefty Norton, Jimmy Hosmer, and Ray Busby; (second row) Charlie Lowry,
David Jones, Coach Paul Quinn, Ronnie McGill, and Joe Pullen.
The
girls basketball team included, from left to right, (front row) Becky
James, Kay Baker, Sharon White, Honey Echols, and Pam Hubler; (second
row) Judy Yarbrough, Pudgy Edwards, Louise Holder, Coach Judson Frost,
Marilyn Bryant, Marcia Boney, and Eleanor Kerce.
The
Future Business Leaders of America included officers Lamar Norton,
Jerry Money, Ann Johnston, DeWayne Tucker, Sue Johnston, and sponsor
Mr. William B. Hair.

Ronald Taylor, and sponsors (not pictured) Coaches Paul Quinn and Rex Cassidy.
